Whether you're celebrating a bachelorette party, looking for a fun daytime activity in Nashville, or finally crossing "take a pole or aerial class" off your bucket list, your first visit to Miss Fit Academy is probably going to be a lot easier than you're imagining.
If you've never been to a pole or aerial studio before, it's completely normal to have questions. What should you wear? Is it hard? Will everyone else be experienced?
We've got you covered! Here's everything you need to know about visiting Miss Fit Academy.
BEFORE CLASS
First Things First: You Don't Need Experience or need to be "In Shape"
This is probably the biggest misconception we hear. The vast majority of people who walk through our doors have never touched a pole or climbed an aerial silk before. In fact, that's exactly who our classes are designed for.
Our instructors break everything down step-by-step, so you don't need dance experience, athletic ability, flexibility, or upper body strength before you arrive.
People often tell us they want to "get in shape before they come." Don't wait. Pole and aerial are workouts, but they're also incredibly fun. You'll build strength, confidence, flexibility, and coordination while learning something completely different than a traditional gym workout.
Where are you located?
Miss Fit Academy is located in the Railyard District in downtown Nashville at 265 Hermitage Avenue, Nashville, TN 37210. We have plenty of free parking in our lot and across the street at our friendly neighboring business, True Line Coring.
What is the studio like?
It's a space that's welcoming, fun, and designed to make everyone feel comfortable from the moment they walk in. Our studio features multiple pole and aerial rooms, spacious changing areas, digital lockers, a makeup vanity, and a boutique stocked with apparel and accessories.
When are your classes?
We offer public classes and practice sessions Monday through Friday between 4:30 pm and 8:30 pm and on Saturdays. We offer private group lessons Monday through Saturday 10 am to 6 pm and select Sundays.
Do I need to make a reservation?
Yes, our classes fill up quickly - sometimes 3-4 weeks in advance. Our group lesson schedule can fill up months in advance. Book early!
Do you offer drop in classes?
Yes, all of our weekly public classes are drop-in style classes, meaning you can join in any time without being lost or confused with the content. We have beginner, intermediate and advanced level classes.
Who can attend classes?
We welcome students of all ages (18+), all body types, all fitness levels and all backgrounds. Our vibe is feminine, but our services are not gender specific. All adults 18+ are welcome! Children, babies and observers are not permitted inside the building.
How much are classes?
A single public class is $25. We also have packages and memberships. Private group lessons start at $300.
We have a special for new students who are visiting Miss Fit Academy for the very first time. It is 3 classes for $45.
YOUR FIRST VISIT
When to arrive?
If you are taking your first public class, we recommend arriving 10 minutes before your class begins. This gives you time to check in at the front desk, put your belongings away, and use the restroom. If you have a group lesson scheduled, we recommend the entire group show up 15 minutes early to allow time to check in, change clothes, and go over a few important details.
Allow plenty of time for traffic. We are located 1 mile from Broadway and traffic is very common, especially Monday through Friday between 3:30 pm and 6:30 pm.
What to wear and bring?
Each class has slightly different requirements regarding what to bring and wear. Below is a basic guideline, but be sure to check the class description for more details.
Beginner Pole Classes
T-shirt, tank top, shorts or leggings, barefoot or socks. Do not wear hand or wrist jewelry/watches. Do not wear lotion or oils - it makes the floor dangerously slippery. Bring a bottle of water, yoga mat and hand towel. We have a few extra yoga mats if you don't have one yet.
Aerial Classes
Fitted shirt that covers your armpits, leggings, barefoot. Do not wear any jewelry or watches. The only jewelry you can keep on is belly button rings and body piercings (if covered), nose rings, small stud earrings that are flush with your skin and ear plugs. Everything else needs removed to protect our fabric. Bring a bottle of water.
Dance Classes
T-shirt or tank top, shorts or leggings, barefoot or socks. We recommend boots or shoes for Country Line and Coyote.
Is there a place to change?
There are two changing rooms, two restrooms and a makeup vanity.
Do you have lockers?
There are digital lockers for you to store your purses, jackets, jewelry, etc.
Can I take photos/videos?
Public classes: Photo/Video can be taken in the last 3-5 minutes of class, however, please consider the privacy of your fellow classmates before including them in your footage.
Private Group Lessons: You can take photos and videos throughout your lesson; however, instruction cannot be recorded.
